The first Citywide Youth Participatory Budgeting (PB) pilot process, known as Youth Power PB Long Beach, expanded democracy for young people to decide on the summer programs they need to thrive this summer!
 

During a 10-day voting period in May, along with a Youth Voter Fair kick-off, youth ages 13- 26 who live, work, and/ or play in Long Beach prioritized how to spend $400K of public funds to meet their needs and to help advance the goals of the Long Beach Youth & Emerging Adults Strategic Plan (YSP). The goals center on health and wellness, planning for the future, community care, housing, and transportation.
